One of our favorite wineries, Pestoni Family Estate Winery, has been part of the region since 1882, when Albino Pestoni moved to Napa Valley from a small Swiss village. Ten years later, Albino and his family planted their first vineyard. The techniques he developed in crafting these wildly popular wines have been passed down through five generations, and informs the Pestoni family’s commitment to every step of the winemaking process, from the roots of grapevines to the finished product. But the current proprietor, Bob Pestoni, didn’t immediately take up the family mantle—instead, he created his own business first, an “aggressive recycling service” that cemented his dedication not only to quality, but to stewardship of the land. Previously known as the Rutherford Grove Winery, the Pestoni Family Estate Winery will offer your Napa Valley group wine tasting tour not just delicious wines, but a piece of local history.
And what delicious wines they are! Try the bright and tropical Sauvignon Blanc grown from vineyards planted in 1923, or the rich, silky Field Blend grown at an altitude of 2,000 feet! Lauded Merlots and Cabernets from such storied appellations as Rutherford and Howell Mountain are also available.
The winery’s gracious hospitality staff offers several flights to fit your group’s taste and budget. Make sure to ask for a flight that includes a comparison tasting of their estate Merlots and Cabernets!
